Chapter 9 is entitled ‘The Yoga of Mysticism’. Krishna sets out to explain how the universe works. He has manifested as Arjuna’s charioteer, but he is really the mighty Supreme Being. All things exist in him. ‘For, as the vast air, wandering world-wide, remains within the ether always, so these, my wandering creatures, are always within me.’
He goes on to say,’ I am OM, I am absolute knowledge…I am the end of the path, the witness, the Lord, the sustainer: I am the place of abode, the beginning, the friend and the refuge.’
That is how I see my yoga. It is my best friend, my support, my constant companion. And, even after teaching for almost forty years, it is sometimes a complete enigma!
